About the club

Diving Ōtākou is the home of platform and springboard diving in Dunedin, Otago!

We offer classes ranging from beginning to adults and masters, competitive and recreational. We regularly send divers to national and international competitions.

We also run coaching training and judges training for people who want to be involved in diving in this way. 

Diving Ōtākou is an Incorporated Society.  Our members are the divers, coaches, judges, and other diving officials. 

Our Partnership with Auckland Diving Community Trust

Diving Otakou delivers high-quality diving opportunities to the Otago community, supported by a strong partnership with the Auckland Diving Community Trust (ADCT). ADCT provides the day-to-day management and operational leadership needed to ensure the club remains sustainable, well-resourced, and positioned for long-term growth.

To strengthen local impact, Diving Otakou also has an active Community Engagement Committee. This group leads local initiatives, connects with families, and supports community-based funding projects, ensuring diving remains accessible and responsive to the needs of the Dunedin and Otago region.

ADCT CEO Steve Gladding provides strategic oversight for Diving Otakou as part of his national role supporting regional diving programmes. This shared-services model allows Diving Otakou to draw on the same expertise, systems, and development pathways used across Auckland and Canterbury. By spreading resources and capability, we ensure the club can focus on what matters most, developing confident young divers and growing the sport in Otago.

ADCT staff work closely with Connie, providing the administrative, operational, and coaching support she needs for the programme to thrive. This includes help with systems, bookings, funding, communication, and athlete development pathways. With this wrap-around support, Connie and the Diving Otakou team are able to focus on high-quality delivery, strong relationships, and growing participation.

Together, Diving Otakou and ADCT are building a sustainable, community-focused, and future-ready diving programme for the Otago region.
